. how they did it. now the fans in san francisco are celebrating tonight. >>> good evening, i'm ann notarangelo. the san francisco giants are back on top of the baseball world tonight. the giants brought their brooms to detroit and they completed the sweep for the tigers tonight, winning in extra winnings, 4-3. the celebration isn't just on the fields, but tens of thousands of fans have exploded on to several san francisco streets. some fans have started a bonfire in the streets. this is at 19th and mission. several streets downtown are now blocked with a crowd taking over a part of the street. we do have reports that thousands of people have blocked a bus at 7th and market. the driver was trapped, but we hear he is now okay. we also are hearing that police in towns are trying to get cars out of harm's way. no reports of any injuries, that's the good news. >> we'll bring in sports director with all the highlights. >> it never gets old. this four-game sweep stunned the baseball world by silencing the detroit line up with some of the most dominating pitching ever witnessed in the clas
series, the 49er's stadium owners are thinking super bowl. san francisco is reportedly putting in a bid to host the championship in 2016 or 2017. a decision on whether the new $1.2 billion stadium is in the running could come any day now. now hosting would mean hundreds of millions of dollars for santa clara and san francisco. >>> in the meantime the golden state warriors are showing off what they hope will be their future home. the new arena in san francisco shows a 740,000 square foot venue at the ends of pier 30 and 32. it will seat more than 17,000 fans. construction is expected to be completed by 2017. >>> a night at a strip club might have cost the public $4,500. and it was a port of oakland official who ran up that tab as cbs5 reporter tells us that he now has a lot of explaning to do. >> reporter: a party at an upscale texas strip club. paid for with public money. the man at the center of the allegations, the port of oakland director. receipts show back in 2008 that he blew $4,500 in one night at treasures, a houston nightclub. he left the port of public agency to put the bill,
involving two cars and a big rig shut down several lanes of highway 101 in san francisco until after 10 p.m. we're told there are no injuries -- there are some injuries but they appear to be not serious. >>> and developing news out of half moon bay where a single- engine plane took off early this morning and hasn't been seen since. cbs 5 reporter lindy is in san mateo county with what we've learned. >> reporter: the information we're getting is still preliminary, but this is what we know at this hour from a spokesman with the faa. a small plane did leave half moon bay just before 6:00, headed to tucson, arizona, with a scheduled fuel stop at apple valley, california, just north of san bernardino. the faa spokesman said it was a single had f engine, a plane similar to the one in this photograph. the pilot's wife reported that the plane was overdue when it failed to show up on schedule at the regional airport in tucson. it is not known at this hour if any search is underway. that is the information we know at this hour. linda yee reporting live in san mateo county. >>> thousands of dollars

paul deanno with the forecast. boy, do we see a big change, especially in downtown san francisco. we literally changed seasons in like two hours. look at the difference between 4:00 yesterday and 4:00 this afternoon. 94, down to 64. 30-degree drop in one day. in downtown oakland, you had the same thing. 95 yesterday. this afternoon, only 71 degrees. beautiful shot of the tower. marine layer still pretty thin but we are getting chilly. san jose, you're at 62. and livermore, currently 64 degrees. overnight tonight we're looking at low 50's for fremont, redwood city. san rafael, 51. napa, 51. san francisco dropping down to 54. that low pressure area that was to our south giving us an offshore wind is now off to our west, grabbing the influence from the cool pacific ocean. that means cloud cover in the morning and definitely some cooler afternoons. this weekend, so many events going on. it's going to be chilly. near the bay, highs only in the upper 60's. next week, low pressure will be right over us, giving us the chance of scattered showers next monday and tuesday. for tomorrow, the coo
